| Product Efficacy & Application |
● Azelaic acid is used to treat acne and rosacea. It is a naturally occurring dicarboxylic acid. It is non-toxic, non-teratogenic, and non-mutagenic. It exhibits cytotoxicity towards melanocytes in human melanoma. Moreover, azelaic acid can inhibit bacteria, regulate normal sebum secretion, and reduce the conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone within the sebaceous glands due to the overproduction of testosterone levels in the body over 5α-reductase, leading to hyperactivity of the sebaceous glands and excessive sebum secretion.
● Due to its natural deficiencies of poor water solubility and high melting point, the compatibility of azelaic acid is greatly restricted. 40% Water-soluble azelaic acid can enhance skin absorption of products by incorporating azelaic acid into cream cosmetics.
